Manial Shiha Hotel

CHARACTER DESIGN ARCHITECTS introduced a proposal for the façade design of this 5 stars’ hotel located in Manial Shiha in Cairo. With its unique location overlooking the river Nile, our target was to develop a facade that is guided and influenced by the spectacular nature of site and view.
Being ideally located in the heart of Cairo, our concept was to create a bold and dynamic effect that cope with the lively nature of the place and add a unique identity to the hotel building. The slight yet intricate shift in the structural slab of each floor gave the building a 3-dimensional dynamic effect. During the night, the deftly incorporated indirect diffused lighting are turned on to give the building this vibrant look.

H.K. Office Buillding

The design of this façade proposes a simple modern form with the use of basic colour and shape. Achieving one of the basic functional specification for any office buildings, the design aims at improving the internal environment of the building.
The northern façade was designed to provide a responsive envelope that allows consistent levels of daylight to reduce energy consumption. whereas, western façade was designed to be more opaque to reduce the sun’s impact on the building’s temperature levels.
